I See the Sea
by Shahinur Islam
I see the sea upon the shore,
To see you play, a seagull’s soar.
Amidst the pain, the waves do roar,
Reaching for you, forevermore.
On waves that dance, my dreams arise,
Like oysters gleam with pearl surprise.
I weave them into wreaths so pure,
Despite your gaze, aloof, demure.
I see the sea upon the shore,
To see you play, a seagull’s soar.
Amidst the pain, the waves do roar,
Reaching for you, forevermore.
The clouds obscure the moon and stars,
Their song a distant tune of sitars.
I hear it still, though I implore,
Like night that seals the evening’s door.
I see the sea upon the shore,
To see you play, a seagull’s soar.
Amidst the pain, the waves do roar,
Reaching for you, forevermore.
