Today, We’re going to explain a movie called “Livid.” The film follows the story of a girl named Lucy Klavel who aspires to work as a caretaker for the sick and elderly. While waiting at a bus stop near the port, she notices missing children’s posters scattered everywhere. A car pulls up, driven by her employer, Melanie Wilson. As they drive, they engage in conversation. Melanie notices Lucy’s heterochromia, a condition where each eye has a different color, and tells her about the superstition that associates it with two different souls, one entering through each eye and exiting through the other. Lucy finds it amusing and doesn’t believe in such superstitions.

At Melanie’s home, Lucy is introduced to her future wards. The first is Andra, who requires daily injections. They enter his room, and upon seeing Lucy, Andra mistakes her for his granddaughter. Melanie reminds him that his granddaughter is no longer present and asks him to remain still while the injection is administered. Lucy volunteers to give the injection, and Andra carefully observes the process, satisfied with Lucy’s careful handling. They move on to the next patient, Maddie, a bedridden woman who has urinary incontinence. Lucy is tasked with cleaning up after her.

Finally, they arrive at the home of the last patient, located in the countryside. The woman asks Lucy to remain in the car as it is too early for her to meet the patient. Curiosity gets the better of Lucy, and she decides to explore the large, untidy mansion on her own. Inside, she finds dark and chaotic rooms with closed windows, filled with paintings, stuffed birds, and animals. Lucy ventures to the second floor and enters one of the rooms, where she encounters an elderly woman. Surprisingly, Melanie Wilson is not angry with Lucy for disobeying and entering the house. Instead, she praises her and sees great potential in her to become a skilled nurse.

Melanie reveals that the name of the bedridden woman is Deborah Jessel, a former renowned dance teacher who once had students from all over, even from Paris. Melanie asks Lucy to open the windows to let in some fresh air. In the room, Lucy notices a shelf of books, and Melanie allows her to choose one. After browsing through the books for a while, Lucy selects a small collection and opens it, only to find a moth flying out of its pages.

Unnoticed by Lucy, Madame Wilson’s face undergoes a subtle change, but she quickly regains her composure. A blood transfusion bag is seen next to Jessel’s bed. Madame Wilson suggests that Lucy replace the old bag with a new one, taking it out of the bag. Lucy wonders why an elderly woman would require a transfusion, but Madame Wilson admits that she herself is not a doctor and doesn’t know the reason. She reveals that Deborah is extremely wealthy and likely hides many treasures.

Madame Wilson escorts Lucy back to the port, and they agree to meet again the next day. As Madame leaves, she encounters a girl on a country road who watches her intently. Meanwhile, Lucy eagerly awaits the evening when a fishing boat approaches the harbor. From the ship emerges her beloved, William. After unloading the fish, they head to a local bar. Lucy shares details about her day at work and mentions the old mansion where a frail elderly woman resides, hinting at the possibility of hidden treasure within the house that remains undiscovered.

The news excites William, and he proposes being the first to find the treasure. Lucy hesitates, not wanting to steal from the old woman. However, William reminds her that his family desperately needs the money, as his father works two jobs and he is tired of struggling to make ends meet through fishing alone. Reluctantly, the couple, Coral and Lucy, set off for home.

Meanwhile, Madame Wilson sits in her bathroom, filling the blood bags. Nearby lies the lifeless body of the girl she encountered earlier that day, as Madame prepares the blood for Jessel. Lucy returns home to find her father announcing that his new girlfriend will soon move in with them. Lucy is puzzled, as her mother passed away only eight months ago, and she wonders how her father found a new partner so quickly. Her father calmly states that her mother took her own life by choice. In that moment, Lucy has a vision of her mother gently caressing her cheek.

Later that night, Lucy calls William and agrees to go through with the robbery. They meet up with their accomplice, Ben, and head towards Jessel’s house.

William hands out makeshift masks made from pillowcases to everyone, but Lucy and Ben refuse to wear them. They leave the car behind in the forest and continue on foot. Upon reaching the grounds of the mansion, the friends leap over the fence and approach the house. All the doors and windows are tightly shut. The young robbers manage to enter through a basement window and cautiously explore the dilapidated interior, hoping to find something valuable.

Lucy suggests they should leave, but William insists on staying until they find at least one valuable item. In the darkness, Ben accidentally stumbles upon a stuffed wolf and, startled, knocks over a nearby vase. As they proceed, they enter a room resembling a nursery, with a haunting children’s tea table and eerie toys. They attempt to access another room but find it locked. Lucy remembers that there is a key around Jessel’s neck, which might unlock the door. They enter the old woman’s room, and Lucy carefully takes the key from her. However, when William tries to use it, they discover that it doesn’t fit the lock. Frustrated, Ben forcefully breaks down the door, only to find the room empty.

In the center of the room, they find a figure covered with a curtain. William unveils it, revealing the lifeless body of Jessel’s daughter. Lucy realizes that she is the true treasure of the old woman. Enraged, William desecrates the girl’s body. Suddenly, they hear noises coming from the upper floor, prompting the friends to flee from the mansion. However, when they return to the basement through which they entered, they discover that the window now has iron bars, trapping them inside.

Realizing they are trapped, Lucy recalls that there is a window in Jessel’s room without bars. They make their way to the old woman’s room, only to find her missing. William attempts to force open the window, but it is locked. Meanwhile, Ben examines a nearby mirror, and upon touching it, he disappears and finds himself in another dimension. Frantically, the friends call out for him, but Ben is disoriented and trapped in a room without an exit. He explores the room, discovering strange test tubes with unfamiliar contents. Suddenly, he is attacked by three figures in white dresses and killed. Just as quickly, they vanish, leaving behind Ben’s lifeless, bloodied body on the floor.

Meanwhile, William continues his futile attempts to break open the window while Lucy examines old photographs, discovering that Jessel’s daughter’s name is Anna. She returns to the children’s room and begins rummaging through the closet, only to be startled when Jessel appears in the room. Lucy sits beside her at the table and extends her hands, and the old woman imparts memories from her past as a dance school teacher. She recalls expelling a girl named Ophelia from the classroom for poor performance. Later, in the locker room, Jessel discovers Anna feeding on Ophelia. Furious, she reprimands Anna, reminding her that she should only kill strangers. Anna flees from the room and onto the street, but after a few steps, she starts vomiting blood and collapses to the ground. Her body levitates above the ground, and her skin turns black. Jessel approaches her, reiterating that Anna must not confuse day and night, and brings her back into the house.

Meanwhile, William, still trying to break open the window, hears someone calling his name as he walks down the hallway. To his surprise, he finds Ben wearing a blood-soaked pillowcase over his head. In a sudden struggle, Ben attacks William, but William manages to defend himself, thrusting a pair of scissors into Ben and ultimately killing him.

Jessel had been watching him from the shadows all along. She suddenly attacks him from behind, sinking her teeth into his throat. Lucy takes refuge in the room with Anna’s lifeless body and begins to examine it, triggering memories of the girl’s past where Jessel forced her to dance. Lucy tries to reassure Anna that she didn’t die but simply broke. Unexpectedly, Anna comes to life and launches an aggressive attack on Lucy. A fierce struggle ensues between them. Lucy manages to bite off a piece of Anna’s neck and delivers a powerful blow to her face, causing Anna to fall motionless. In that moment, Madame Wilson enters the room and delivers a punch to Lucy’s stomach.

After a while, Lucy regains consciousness only to find herself tied to a table, with Madame Wilson standing nearby. When Lucy questions her about her actions, Madame Wilson coldly states that she is merely doing her job. Memories flood Lucy’s mind, recalling her own childhood as a student of Jessel. Unlike the other girls who fled the house when Jessel expelled them, Wilson chose to stay in the mansion. She became Jessel’s assistant, planting a mechanism in Anna’s spine that allowed her to move. From a young age, Wilson served as Gisele’s accomplice.

Jessel enters the room, slashes Lucy’s abdomen with her fingernail, and inserts a moth larva into the wound. She then places the same larva into Anna’s neck. In a chilling moment, Jessel gouges out Lucy’s eyes, and in her final glimpse, Lucy sees the silhouette of her mother observing her. The larvae transform into moths and fly into Anna and Lucy’s mouths. Anna’s soul finds its way into Lucy’s body, and she regains consciousness, stunned by the realization that she has become human.

Madame Wilson turns on the music, and Jessel commands her daughter to dance. However, Anna refuses to obey her mother’s orders. She kills Madame Wilson and proceeds to slit Jessel’s throat. Anna approaches Jessel’s lifeless body, which now houses Lucy’s presence, and severs the threads that had bound her eyes. As they come to their senses, the girls return together to Gisele’s room to retrieve the keys to the front door.

Jessel launches a final attack on them, but the girls overpower her and throw her off the top floor. They spend the night together, sharing the same bed. In the morning, Lucy finds refuge in a dark alley, and together they make their way to a cliff. Lucy falls off the cliff, carried away by the wind. Anna remains alone in this strange body, observing the events unfolding before her. And with that, the movie concludes.
